Trump thanks Iran for warning about their attack in Qatar and invites them to “continue in peace”

The Iranians launched 14 missiles against the US Al Udeid base, of which 13 were intercepted and one was heading towards a non-dangerous area.

In a very particular message, given the threats that had been made in the previous hours in anticipation of a potential Iranian response, Donald Trump expressed his gratitude to Iran for warning about their missile attack on the U.S. base in Al Udeid, Qatar, in which no U.S. or Qatari military personnel were injured.

In addition, the President of the United States urged Iran and also Israel to “move forward with peace”.

The Iranian response occurred about 36 hours after the American attack ordered by Trump with bombs dropped from a B-2 and missiles fired from a submarine against three Iranian nuclear facilities, including Fordow.

What did Trump say about the attack by Iran on the US base in Qatar?

“I want to thank Iran for warning us, which has made it possible for no lives to be lost and for no one to be injured. Now perhaps Iran can continue with peace and harmony in the region, and I encourage Israel to do the same with enthusiasm,” Trump stated in a message posted on his social network, Truth Social. “The most important thing is that they have gotten away with it within their ‘system’ and hopefully there will be no more hatred,” added the president.

“I am pleased to report that no Americans were injured and that there was almost no damage” in this “very weak response” to “our complete destruction of their nuclear facilities,” said Trump, who also pointed out that they were expecting this response.

Trump explained that Iran launched a total of 14 projectiles, of which 13 were shot down. The other was not intercepted “because it was heading in a non-threatening direction.”

According to The New York Times, Iranian authorities warned Qatari counterparts of the attack to avoid casualties and indicated that they “needed” to respond symbolically.

According to various analyses, this response is similar to when during the first Trump administration, the United States killed General Qassim Suleimani, leader of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, with a drone strike in Baghdad, Iraq. On that occasion, the Iranians also warned of a missile attack on a U.S. base in Iraq.

The American president took the opportunity to thank the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, “for everything he has done to achieve peace in the region.”
