Iran confirms two more members of the Revolutionary Guard dead in Israeli attacks

In addition, the Israeli Armed Forces reported that they have killed nine scientists and experts from the Iranian nuclear program.

Another two more members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard died in an Israeli attack in Zarandiyeh, in the Markazi province, in the center of the country, as confirmed by Iranian authorities.

The members of the Revolutionary Guard died “while carrying out a mission to protect the Islamic Revolution” near a base of the paramilitary Basij militia, reported the semi-official Iranian news agency ISNA citing a statement.

“We ask the general population to stand in solidarity and unity with the Armed Forces and their members, firmly united against the aggressive actions of the enemies to achieve the undeniable victory of the warriors of Islam,” added the statement from the Revolutionary Guard.

New attacks by Israel on Iran

During Saturday, Israel continued with its airstrikes against Iran, which since Friday has already carried out more than 150 attacks, mainly targeting military and nuclear production facilities.

Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir-Saeid Iravani, stated on Friday before the United Nations Security Council that at least 78 people have died and over 320 have been injured as a result of the waves of Israeli attacks.

The Iranian regime mourns the death of several top military officials, including the top commander of the Revolutionary Guard, Hossein Salami. The Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has already appointed Salami’s replacement, Mohamad Pakpur, who was previously the commander of the Ground Forces.

In turn, the Israeli army reported the death of Major General Mohammad Bagheri, who held the position of Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces and was considered the second most powerful figure in the country after the ayatollah.

Iran’s President, Masud Pezeshkian, warned on Saturday that there will be a “harsher” military response against Israel if the “Zionist aggression” is repeated, referring to the wave of attacks against the Iranian nuclear program and senior military officials that began in the early hours of Friday.

Nine scientists and nuclear experts death

The Israeli Armed Forces reported on Saturday that they have killed nine scientists and experts from the Iranian nuclear program in the recent attacks launched since Friday morning in various locations in Iranian territory.

“They were a central part in the process of advancing towards nuclear armament. Their elimination represents a significant blow to the Iranian regime’s ability to obtain weapons of mass destruction,” argued the IDF.

Among the scientists who died are Fereydoun Abbasi and Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi. Abbasi was the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, while Tehranshi was a renowned theoretical physicist and rector of the Islamic Azad University of Tehran.
