Since their departure from the British royal family, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been in the public spotlight. While some appreciate their transparency, others criticize them for contradicting their message about privacy.
Recently, a new controversy arose after the circulation of a video on social media in which Meghan is seen dancing in the delivery room shortly before giving birth to her daughter Lilibet. What was meant to be an intimate moment was harshly criticized online as “cringe”, “fake”, and “forced”. This is compounded by criticisms of Markle’s new lifestyle program on Netflix, which many have labeled as superficial.
However, as if nothing was stopping them, the couple reappeared this Friday with a very different post: a heartwarming family visit to Disneyland that reveals how much their children Archie (6) and Lilibet (4) have grown.
The Sussex family experiences the magic of Disney
In the video shared on Meghan’s Instagram profile, the family is seen enjoying what appears to have been a celebration for Lilibet’s birthday at Disneyland California and Disney California Adventure. The images show the Sussexes with matching Mickey ears, accompanying their children on a day of pure tenderness and fun.
Archie and Lili appear with their faces covered by heart emojis, but they seem excited in attractions like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and the classic King Arthur carousel.
They also met Queen Elsa and enjoyed a spectacular cake inspired by The Little Mermaid, in honor of little Lili’s fourth birthday. At the top: a figure of Ariel; at the base, a sweet message in pink: “Happy birthday, Lili”.
One of the most commented details was the matching look of the whole family with personalized ears and visor hats, in an obvious attempt to go unnoticed... without much success. Meghan and Harry even dared to ride Space Mountain, and were photographed in the front row, screaming like any excited couple.
Did they change their minds?
The post was accompanied by a clear phrase: “Thank you @disneyland for giving us two days of pure joy as a family!”. A statement that seems to be directed at those who accuse them of being artificial or seeking attention: could they be trying to show themselves as more approachable to the public to clean up their image?
Far from hiding, Meghan and Harry are showing themselves more genuine than ever, perhaps betting that naturalness—even if not liked by everyone—is the best way to connect. This visit to Disneyland not only revealed how big their children are, but also showed a warmer and more everyday side of the family that, for better or for worse, continues to be under the public eye.
