Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner reinforced his lead in the ATP world ranking this week after winning his first Wimbledon title on Sunday, extending his advantage over Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz to 3,430 points. Alcaraz remains in second place despite losing in the final of the tournament.
The triumph in London, along with reaching the quarterfinals last year, allowed Sinner to consolidate his dominance at the top of men’s tennis. Alcaraz, on the other hand, lost 700 points compared to the previous edition of the tournament, widening the gap between them.
Alexander Zverev remains in third place in the rankings despite his early elimination in the first round. American Taylor Fritz, a Wimbledon semifinalist, moves up to fourth place, displacing British player Jack Draper, who falls to fifth. Novak Djokovic remains sixth, and the Top-10 is completed by Casper Ruud (7), Alex de Miñaur (8), Ben Shelton (9), and Andrey Rublev (10).
Regarding the Spaniards, Alejandro Davidovich moves up to 26th place, Pedro Martínez returns to the Top-50, and Jaume Munar reaches his best historical ranking, 51st place, thanks to his performance in the third round.
