The Indiana Pacers dominated the Oklahoma City Thunder to avoid being eliminated and force a decisive seventh game in the NBA Finals.
With the series tied at 3-3, the final game will be on Sunday at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City at 8:00pm (Puerto Rico time).
Indiana finished the game with a score of 108-91 over Oklahoma.
Game Summary
First partial
After a slow start, the Indiana Pacers came from behind to win the first quarter 28-25. The Thunder started with a 10-2 lead, forcing the Pacers to call for an emergency timeout, and later made their own 8-0 run that tied the game 10-10 in the 8th minute.
Second midterm
The Pacers continued their offensive and went up 45-33, which represented the largest lead in all the final games up to that point. Later, with a three-point shot from Aaron Nesmith, they increased the lead to 48-35. With less than a minute to play in the second quarter, Indiana continued their offensive until reaching a 64-42 lead before halftime.
In the first half, Indiana’s bench players scored 19 points, compared to just 3 points from OKC’s reserves.
Third partial
Despite Oklahoma City managing to reduce the Pacers’ lead to 18, the home team’s offense was unstoppable. The Pacers recovered and increased their lead to 30, ending the quarter 90-60.
Fourth partial
The Oklahoma City Thunder scored 31 points against Indiana’s 18 in the last quarter, but it wasn’t enough to defeat the home team and end the series.
