Summer brings heat, vacations... and new smartphones. Although many are focused on the Pixel 10 or the foldable phones that Samsung has up its sleeve, the first bombshell of the year could be the Nothing Phone 3.
And not only because of its glyph-free design (which is already worth talking about), but also because its filtered price dangerously puts it close to the iPhone and Galaxy S25... without breaking the bank as much.
Was I too ambitious?
It all started when Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing, appeared on the Android Show and dropped a bomb: that the Phone 3 could cost more than 1000 dollars.
That, coming from a brand that launched the Phone 2 in the U.S. for $600, seemed crazy. Were they changing their target audience to join the premium smartphone club?
A gentler filtration
Luckily, leaker Roland Quandt came to the rescue with more user-friendly data. According to him, the base model of Phone 3 would cost just under 800 dollars in the United States. Not bad considering it would offer 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
And if you’re feeling like splurging, for about 900 dollars you could upgrade to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB. In summary: a clear improvement, but without straying too far from the price of the Phone 2.
And what about the headphones?
But that’s not all. In addition to the Phone 3, Nothing also plans to launch its first over-ear headphones.
If you have tried their previous earbuds, you know they know what they are doing. Now, according to the leaker Arsène Lupin, the “Headphones 1” will arrive on September 30th in white or black, with a price close to $300.
That puts them right in the fight with brands like Sony or Bose, but if the design and sound are up to par, they could be the next surprise success of the year.
