The Indiana Pacers had to sweat it out to defeat the New York Knicks in overtime during the first game of the Eastern Conference Finals in the NBA.
Indiana won the first game of the series after defeating New York with a score of 138-135 in overtime. Multiple three-pointers from Aaron Nesmith brought the Pacers back into the game, overcoming a 14-point deficit they faced in the fourth quarter.
Nesmith finished the game with 30 points, while Tyrese Haliburton scored 31 in the Pacers’ victory. For the Knicks, Jalen Brunson scored 43 points and Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 35 points.
This is the first game of the Eastern Conference finals series, a stage the Knicks have not qualified for in over 20 years. On this occasion, they are looking to break the streak of absences in the finals, but they must defeat their rivals, the Indiana Pacers, who have historically had great battles in the NBA postseason.
With the series 1-0 in favor of Indiana, the next game will be on Friday at 8 p.m. (Puerto Rico time).
