Trump reacts to Biden’s decision to withdraw his candidacy: “Crooked Joe was not fit to run for President”

The Republican candidate had his first campaign event on Saturday since the attack on July 13th in Pennsylvania.

Donald Trump was the first person from the Republican Party to react to Joe Biden’s decision, announced on social media this Sunday afternoon, to drop out of the presidential race. And as expected, he did so with insulting words towards the current President of the United States.

Through his social network, Trump wrote: “Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve - And never was! He only attained the position of President by lies, Fake News, and not leaving his Basement.

In the same tone, he also attacked his health by saying “All those around him, including his Doctor and the Media, knew that he wasn’t capable of being President, and he wasn’t - And now, look what he’s done to our Country, with millions of people coming across our Border, totally unchecked and unvetted, many from prisons, mental institutions, and record numbers of terrorists. We will suffer greatly because of his presidency, but we will remedy the damage he has done very quickly. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Will it be Trump vs Harris now?

Several news outlets reported that in the Republican campaign they were preparing for a change in the Democratic candidacy and that the top favorite was the current Vice President of the United States. In this sense, they would already have a battery of attacks and criticisms ready against Kamala Harris.

Harris, who has not yet communicated whether she accepts the candidacy and still needs to be ratified by the Democratic National Convention the third week of August in Chicago, according to various polls, would beat Trump in key states.

The current vice president would allow Democrats to once again motivate young people, who were discouraged with Biden, and stop the leakage of African American votes towards Trump's candidacy.

This Saturday in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Donald Trump held his first campaign event since surviving an assassination attempt, returning to the state of Michigan, a crucial battleground for the upcoming November 5th election. He was accompanied by Ohio Senator JD Vance, his vice-presidential candidate, in the first event they have done together since becoming the Republican Party nominees at the National Convention held in Milwaukee.
