More than 550 former Israeli officials on behalf of the CIS (Commanders for Israel Security), a group that includes the largest number of former generals from the Army and the Mossad, Shin Bet, the Police, and diplomatic bodies, signed a letter on Monday demanding that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, press the Israeli Government to end its offensive in the Gaza Strip.

The text states that the correct direction involves ending the offensive in Gaza, rescuing the 50 hostages still in the enclave, and forging a regional and international coalition to assist the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), which governs in limited parts of the West Bank due to Israeli occupation, “to offer Gazans and all Palestinians an alternative to Hamas and its perverse ideology.”
What does the letter from the former Israeli officials to Trump say?
“Your credibility with most Israelis enhances your ability to influence Prime Minister Netanyahu and his government in the right direction,” the officials assert in the letter, which begins with a call to Trump: “End the war!”
“The Army achieved the two objectives that could be reached through force long ago: dismantling the military and governmental formations of Hamas. The third and most important can only be achieved through an agreement: bringing all hostages home,” said the officials.
Based on this, they declared: “Pursuing the remaining high-ranking members of Hamas can be done later. Our hostages cannot wait.”.
