Who was Hulk Hogan?
Hogan was one of the most important wrestlers in WWE history. One of the most significant moments of his career occurred on January 23, 1984, when “Hulkamania” was officially born, the night when the Georgia native defeated The Iron Sheik to become champion.
In addition, Hulk starred in the most important matches of WrestleMania, one of them being the third edition, in which he faced off against André The Giant.
His motto “say your prayers, take your vitamins, and believe in yourself”, was very popular, especially among children.
In 2005, he earned his induction into the Hall of Fame, in a ceremony led by Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone, with whom he shared credits in the film “Rocky III”.
For several years he has been retired, although in 2006 he returned to the ring to have a rivalry with the “Legend Killer”, Randy Orton, with whom he ended the feud at the Summer Slam PPV, however, he was defeated.
Controversial support for Donald Trump
In the summer of 2024, Hulk Hogan sparked controversy by appearing at the Republican Convention that nominated Donald Trump as the candidate for the presidency of the United States.
“Throughout my career, I’ve been in the ring with some of the biggest and baddest guys on the planet. Donald Trump is the toughest of them all. They’ve thrown everything at Donald Trump, all the investigations, impeachments, court cases, and he’s still standing and kicking their asses,” detailed the former WWE wrestler at that moment.
The president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., wrote “R.I.P to a legend...HULK HOGAN” on his official X account, alongside a photo taken during the Republican National Convention.
