Israel launched an attack in the early hours of Monday against several strategic points in Yemen under the control of the Houthi rebels, including the Ras Qantib power plant and the ports of Al Hudaydah, Ras Issa, and Al Salif, as reported by the Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz.

“The law in Yemen is the same as in Tehran. Anyone who tries to harm Israel will be harmed (...) The Houthis will continue to pay a high price for their actions,” added the Minister of Defense.
According to the IDF information, the targeted points were the Ras Qantib power plant and the ports of Al Hudeida, Ras Issa, and Al Salif, under the argument that rebels in Yemen use them to transfer weapons to Iran.
“The attack was carried out in response to the continuous attacks by the Houthi terrorist regime against the state of Israel, its citizens, and its civilian infrastructure,” the Israeli Army explained in another statement, in which they also accused the Houthis of “being central representatives of the Iranian regime.”
The bombings were confirmed by the military spokesperson of the Yemeni insurgents, Yahya Sarea.
The ‘Black Flag’ operation comes after Israel intercepted a new ballistic missile launched against its territory from Yemen on Sunday and after the Houthis attacked a ship in the Red Sea, precisely near the port of Al Hudaydah.
Since the beginning of the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip, Houthi rebels have been launching missiles and drones against ships in the Red Sea and also against Israeli territory in response to Israeli airstrikes on the Palestinian enclave.
The rebels insist that their attacks will only cease when Israel ends its offensive in the Palestinian enclave that has already killed more than 57,000 people, the majority of them women and children, according to figures from the Ministry of Health.
