Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon and one of the richest men in the world, and Lauren Sánchez, a journalist and philanthropist, have just celebrated their spectacular wedding in Venice, Italy. What was supposed to be an intimate union quickly turned into the social event of the year, bringing together celebrities, entrepreneurs, politicians, and global elite figures. And as expected, luxury and stunning details were not lacking.

The love story between Jeff and Lauren began in 2019, and after a private engagement in 2023 aboard the megayacht Koru, they finally said “I do” today. From the discreet proposal hidden under a pillow at sea, to a wedding with secret locations and high jewelry pieces valued in millions, everything about this union screams exclusivity.

Between designer dresses and million-dollar jewelry

The ceremony was held at the iconic Teatro Verde, located on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, a historic corner of Venice. Lauren dazzled in a lace dress signed by Dolce & Gabbana, featuring 180 hand-covered silk chiffon buttons, a piece that required over 900 hours of artisan work. And if that wasn’t enough, the bride wore a diamond necklace valued at between 3 and 5 million dollars, a wedding gift from Bezos, accompanied by matching earrings.

But that wasn’t all: during the three days of celebration, Lauren alternated high-fashion outfits from Schiaparelli, Dior, and Hermès, while Jeff opted for elegant and minimalist looks, letting his future wife shine. It is rumored that their stylists signed confidentiality agreements to protect the identity of the fashion houses involved.

An invitation with a surprise: no gifts, just generosity

One of the most commented details was the wedding invitation, decorated with butterflies, birds, and shooting stars in white and gold tones. But what caught the most attention was an unexpected request: the couple asked not to receive gifts, and instead, announced that they would make donations on behalf of their guests to three Venetian organizations. The beneficiaries were the UNESCO office in Venice, CORILA (for the restoration of the lagoon habitats), and the Venice International University.

The intention, they pointed out, is “to ensure that this city continues to inspire wonder for generations.”

A list of VIP guests

Over 250 guests attended the wedding, including some of the most influential figures in entertainment and politics. From Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Brady, Sydney Sweeney, Orlando Bloom, to the Kardashian-Jenner family and Ivanka Trump, all arrived aboard yachts, vaporettos, or even helicopters. The event planning was handled by Lanza & Baucina, the same firm behind George Clooney’s wedding, experts in ultra-luxury weddings.

The weekend included pre-parties with eccentric themes, such as a foam party on Bezos’ $500 million yacht, and private dinners in Venetian palaces, all wrapped in absolute secrecy.
