Trump claims that he will soon get Iran and Israel to sign peace thanks to his “intervention”

The president said that although his country is not directly involved in the conflict between Israel and Iran, he sees it as "possible" that the United States may get involved.

Donald Trump stated this Sunday that Iran and Israel, who have been in the worst direct conflict in their history in recent days, will soon sign a ceasefire thanks to their negotiating skills and the process that has already been set in motion to end the conflict.

In a message posted on his platform Truth Social, the President of the United States congratulated himself on his abilities to calm other conflict scenarios and hopes that the latest crisis between Iran and Israel will be the last example of this.

Trump promised that when he took office on January 20th, he would immediately end the war in Ukraine, but the conflict still continues, with no ceasefire in sight and including attacks by Russia against the Ukrainian civilian population.

What did Trump say about Israel and Iran?

“We will soon have peace between Israel and Iran. Many calls and meetings are taking place. I do a lot and never get credit for anything, but it doesn’t matter, people understand. Let’s make the Middle East great again,” Trump assured.

The American president has been trying for days to clarify the exact details of the US involvement in the military campaign that Israel began last Friday. Over the past 48 hours, Trump claimed he was perfectly aware of the attack, but early on Sunday he stated that he had nothing to do with the recent Israeli attacks.

In fact, shortly after posting the message, Trump explained to the ABC network that, while his country is not directly involved in the conflict, he sees it as “possible” for the United States to get involved, without providing further details.

Furthermore, he declared himself “open” to having Russian President Vladimir Putin as a mediator in the conflict. “He is ready. He called me to discuss it. We had a long conversation about it,” commented Trump.

Will the negotations with Iran continue?

Trump has wanted to insist that his negotiation offer to Iran is still on the table and has ensured that there is currently no ultimatum for the government of Tehran to sit down and negotiate.

“There is no deadline right now. But they want to reach an agreement. They are negotiating,” assured the U.S. president before addressing the current crisis again. “Something like this had to end up happening,” he said before perceiving the current conflict as an opportunity.

A new round of negotiations between the United States and Iran in Oman was scheduled for this Sunday, but they were suspended following the attacks by Israel.
