The governor of California stands up to Trump

“I have just filed an emergency motion to block the illegal deployment of Marines and the National Guard by Trump in Los Angeles. Trump is turning the American military against its citizens. The courts must immediately block these illegal actions,” stated the governor through the social network X.

This request comes one day after California Attorney General Rob Bonta filed a complaint against Trump and his Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, for the “illegal” and “inflammatory” deployment of security forces in Los Angeles, stating that the troop deployment constitutes a violation of the Constitution.

Trump says that California was “invaded”

On Tuesday afternoon, at an event at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, one of the largest military bases in the world, Donald Trump said that Los Angeles is being “invaded” by a “foreign enemy.”

“What you are witnessing in California is a total attack on peace, public order, and national sovereignty, perpetrated by troublemakers carrying foreign flags with the aim of continuing a foreign invasion of our country. We will not allow that to happen,” commented Trump.

The President of the United States criticized the protesters, whom he has referred to as “animals.”

This morning, Trump also acknowledged that he is considering invoking the Insurrection Act in case the situation escalates in the Californian city and accused the protesters of receiving payments to protest against the raids and detentions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The Insurrection Law establishes the mechanism to be followed in order to activate the use of this force in moments of “rebellion.”
