Cristiano Ronaldo says goodbye to Al Nassr with almost 500 million dollars in his pocket but without a title

His destiny could be in two teams participating in the next Club World Cup: Palmeiras and Flamengo from Brazil, and Monterrey from Mexico.

The Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo announced that his “chapter” with Al Nassr “has ended”, after his team lost to Al Fateh (3-2) on the last day of the Saudi Arabia league.

Al Nassr finished in third place, far behind the champion Al-Ittihad.

Where will Cristiano Ronaldo play now?

“This chapter has ended. The story? It is still being written. Grateful to everyone,” CR7 wrote on his social media.

Due to its position in the Saudi Pro League, Al Nassr will not be able to play in the next edition of the Asian Champions League, as their defeat and Al Hilal’s victory against Al-Qadsiah prevented them from finishing in the coveted second place.

While the Saudi team and the player have not officially confirmed the departure, Cristiano’s name is being mentioned as a possible reinforcement for two teams that will participate in the next Club World Cup: Palmeiras and Flamengo from Brazil and Monterrey from Mexico.

Cristiano Ronaldo leaves without an official title

The Portuguese forward, who joined the Riyadh club in 2022, failed to win any official titles with the team, and his contract expires at the end of this season. In total, he scored 93 goals in 105 matches.

He was only able to celebrate the 2023 Arab Champions Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s stay in Saudi Arabia did bring him significant earnings with a $230 million contract per year, which over two and a half seasons amounts to $575 million in earnings.
