Aisha Bowe was also part of the mission, as reported by the official Blue Origin website. She is an aerospace engineer, former NASA member, and founder of STEMBoard, a technology company focused on closing the educational gap in STEM for minorities.
Amanda Nguyen was accompanied by a prominent civil rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize nominee.
Gayle King: Veteran journalist from CBS News, known for her work on television and her influence in the media. And Kerianne Flynn, a film producer focused on gender and diversity issues, committed to showcasing stories of women in the entertainment industry.
How much does this space tourism trip cost?
According to what Slash Gear reports, it is not at all economical. As you can imagine, there are quite long waiting lists, because it’s not like a rocket takes off every day. However, despite the price, there is no shortage of wealthy people in the world, so there are many interested in flying to space with Blue Origin, to emulate what Katy Perry and the other girls did.
Each ticket, experts estimate, ranges between 250,000 and 450,000 dollars. Just to sign up, a deposit of 150,000 dollars is required, which we don’t know if it counts towards the full ticket cost afterwards.
It is not as expensive as it seems, but it is unaffordable for a person with an average salary.
