After the controversy surrounding the murder of tiktoker Valeria Márquez, who was shot during a live broadcast on social media, Mexico’s president, Claudia Sheinbaum, commented on the ongoing investigations.

During her morning press conference, known as The People’s Morning, from National Palace, the president was questioned by media about the case, whose video has gone viral on digital platforms.

What did Sheinbaum say about the murder of TikToker Valeria Márquez?

“There is an ongoing investigation. Efforts are being made to first identify the responsible parties and also clarify the motive behind this situation. Our solidarity with the family in the face of this lamentable tragedy. The Security Cabinet, in coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office, is handling the case,” stated Sheinbaum.

The president also made a call for respect towards the victims and to allow the authorities to do their job without interference. “The call is always for respect for the victims and to let the authorities carry out the corresponding investigation and make the necessary arrests," the president said at the National Palace.

This was the murder of the TikToker Valeria Márquez in Zapopan

Valeria Márquez was murdered in her beauty salon, Blossom Beauty, on the afternoon of May 13. According to reports, one of her employees, identified as Erika, informed her that a delivery person had come to the salon to deliver a gift.

As Valeria was not there at that moment, the delivery person would have decided to come back later to give it to her personally. However, what was delivered was a hail of gunfire that ended her life immediately.
