Noah’s Ark is one of the most popular biblical stories in history. In the Book of Genesis, it is said that God gave a man the task of building a giant ship capable of housing a pair of animals of each species, including himself and his family as humans, because a 150-day flood was coming.

Science has tried to find evidence that this event, as stated in the Bible, happened 5,000 years ago. In Turkey, there is an area called Durupınar, 30 kilometers south of Mount Ararat, where real evidence of Noah’s Ark seems to be.

The first clues are the ground formations of this mountain, which have the geometry of a ship. The debate is whether they are a natural geological formation or artificial remains made by a ship of such size, as described in the Book of Genesis.

Therefore, we are in the midst of the first archaeological excavation that will attempt to find real evidence to confirm (or dismiss) that this was the destination of Noah’s Ark, and thus corroborate that the biblical account is real.
The research background indicates that this formation would have occurred between the years 5,500 and 3,000 B.C., which coincides with the text of the Bible.
“It is exactly what one would expect to find if it were an artificial vessel, according to the biblical specifications of Noah’s Ark,” said Andrew Jones, an independent researcher, according to National Geographic.
Old investigations reveal signs of human and wildlife life in the area
Previous investigations in the area reveal that the region of Mount Ararat suffered an unprecedented flood at the same time described in the Bible.
“Our studies show that this region hosted life during that period and that, at some point, it was covered by water, reinforcing the possibility of a catastrophic event of great magnitude,” said archaeologists.
