The Telemundo network confirmed on Sunday night that former Miss Universe winners, Zuleyka Jerris Rivera and Alicia Machado, will be part of the first season of the reality show “Miss Universe Latina”, which premieres on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

Miss Universe 2006 and Miss Universe 1996 will be captains of the competition that is looking for a candidate for the Miss Universe 2025 pageant.
The MUL host will be the Mexican Jacky Bracamontes, who is also an actress and competed in Miss Universe 2001, held in Puerto Rico and won by Denise M. Quiñones August.

In the show, several young women from different parts of Latin America and the United States will compete in various challenges and tests to become the first Miss USA Latina.
Miss Universe 2025 will have two candidates from the United States this year, one of whom will be the winner of “Miss Universe Latina.”
The international beauty pageant will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, during the month of November 2025, where the Danish Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, Miss Universe 2024, will crown her successor.

The organization of the new Universal Woman contest announced this Thursday, May 8, 2025, the cancellation of the third edition of the competition, scheduled to take place in the coming weeks in India.

The contest, where the Filipina Maria Gigante was supposed to hand over her crown, was expected to take place in India. However, conflicts and attacks between the mentioned country and Pakistan caused the competition to be postponed
“Due to the escalation of tensions and conflict between Pakistan and India over the region of Kashmir, which has tragically resulted in significant loss of lives and widespread disruption, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the third edition of Universal Woman, which was intended to take place in Jaipur on June 8, 2025.”

We understand the immense effort and dedication that our participants have invested, and we remain committed to providing them with a safe and secure platform to showcase their talents and accomplishments.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with all the victims and those affected by this conflict. We hope for a quick and peaceful solution to this crisis,” reads the statement from the organizers of the event on their social media.
In December 2024, model and TV host Ivana Carolina Irizarry was introduced as the new representative of Puerto Rico for the international pageant Universal Woman.
Upon receiving this recognition, Ivana Carolina expressed her excitement: “I am thrilled and I believe that this title came at the right moment. I feel like I am at my best. This year has been one of great personal and professional growth, full of opportunities that have opened new doors. Being chosen as Universal Woman Puerto Rico 2025 is a very important task, and I am ready to take it on with determination and commitment. My goal is to bring the first Miss Universal Woman crown to our island.”
Ivana Carolina, who also appeared as a host on the TV show “Puerto Rico Gana” (Telemundo) and as a participant on the cooking show “Súper Chef Celebrity” (Wapa TV), leads Hilos Dorados, a foundation dedicated to improving the quality of life for older adults.
“I deeply believe in the power of our actions and in speaking up for causes that matter. This title gives me an even greater platform to transform lives and build a legacy that inspires future generations,” concluded the third runner-up in Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2024, where she represented Lares.
