Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez will have to face a new crisis together

They have not been able to sell the house they own together.

Although Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck decided to go their separate ways, a last shared property keeps them connected, at least for now.

After ten long months without finalizing the sale, the former couple decided to cut the price of their former shared home by 8 million dollars.

The property, which was listed for $68 million in July 2024, is now on the market for $59.95 million, according to real estate records.

With this decision, both J.Lo and Affleck will face an estimated loss of $855,000 dollars, as they bought it for $60.8 million in May 2023.

The mega mansion is an architectural gem of 38,000 square feet, located in one of the most exclusive and secure areas of Beverly Hills. Designed with timeless elegance and cutting-edge technology, it features 12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, a bar, sports lounge, gym, boxing ring, and basketball and pickleball courts.

It also includes a caretaker’s house, a guard house with two bedrooms, and a 5,000 square foot guest penthouse. And as if that wasn’t enough, an infinity pool frames the luxury of the place.

Although the price may seem exorbitant, the truth is that these types of celebrity properties are not easy to sell. In fact, in September 2024, a buyer even offered $64 million, but the transaction was unexpectedly canceled due to a family tragedy involving the buyer.

What’s going on with the mansion?

Although they now live separately - Ben in Brentwood and J.Lo in a new house near Los Angeles - this mansion was the symbol of a stage that promised to be eternal.

They acquired it less than a year after getting married, and their attempt to sell it outside the market was the first sign that something was not going well. The divorce was made official in January 2025, but long before that, there were speculations about internal tensions. In July 2024, for example, they spent the 4th of July separated: she in the Hamptons, he in Los Angeles.

According to close sources, one of the conflicts was precisely the location of the house, which made it difficult for Affleck to spend time with his children, from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner. “His life is in Brentwood. Navigating the traffic from that house was a nightmare for Ben,” commented an insider.

What makes this sale an even more symbolic chapter is that, despite the disagreements that led to their divorce, they both agreed to split any profit (or loss) derived from the sale of the property. Today, more than a failed investment, the property represents an emotional closure for one of Hollywood’s most followed couples.
