Pirro is following in the footsteps of other colleagues from that television network, allied with Trump, who have ended up in the new administration, such as Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

Trump was forced to nominate Pirro after being pressured to withdraw Ed Martin’s name due to pressure from Senate Republicans.
What did Trump say about the appointment of Pirro?
“I am pleased to announce that Judge Jeanine Pirro will be appointed as interim federal prosecutor for the District of Columbia,” announced the President of the United States on Truth Social, highlighting the professional background of someone who has emerged as one of his most ardent supporters in the media.
“Jeanine was an assistant district attorney in Westchester County, New York, and later served as a county judge and district attorney, where she was the first woman elected to these positions,” commented the President of the United States.
Trump has stated that Pirro has been “a staunch advocate for victims,” as demonstrated by her “pioneering” domestic violence office in her district attorney’s office. “Jeanine is highly qualified for this position and is considered one of the best district attorneys in the history of the state of New York,” he said.
Trump also reviewed Pirro’s career in front of the cameras of Fox News, where she has hosted her own program for ten years, “Justice with Judge Jeanine,” and is currently a co-host of “The Five,” “one of the highest-rated television programs,” according to the president.
The controversies of Pirro
As a fervent follower of Trump and his speeches, Pirro was one of the Fox News presenters named in a lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems for questioning the validity of the vote counts in the 2020 presidential elections.
Fox News reached an out-of-court settlement in the case for $787 million and was forced to acknowledge the falsehood of Pirro’s and other hosts’ statements.
