“I can confirm the first halftime show at the FIFA World Cup final in New York New Jersey, in partnership with the Global Citizen advocacy organization. This will be a historic moment for the FIFA World Cup and a show worthy of the greatest sporting event in the world,” Infantino stated in his post.

Coldplay’s collaboration in the event organization

The president of FIFA also thanked Chris Martin and Phil Harvey from Coldplay for their participation in the organization of the halftime show and in the selection of the artists who will be present.

In addition, other entertainment activities are planned in Times Square during the final weekend, in what Infantino called the “takeover” of this iconic place.

“I also want to thank Chris Martin and Phil Harvey from Coldplay, who will be working with us at FIFA to finalize the list of artists who will perform during the halftime show, as well as in Times Square,” Infantino added.

Coldplay has experience in these events, as they performed in the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show in 2016, alongside Beyoncé and Bruno Mars.
