Since its last trilogy, which ended in a poor way due to a lack of agreement in its direction between J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson, the franchise created by George Lucas has had a lot of difficulty connecting with younger generations and at the same time pleasing the desires of its most ardent classic era fans.

What has the critics said about Skeleton Crew, the new Star Wars series?
The series tells "the story of four children who end up living an adventure to return home after getting lost in the galaxy following a discovery on their home planet," the official synopsis reveals.
Starring Jude Law and several children who form modern-day ‘Goonies’, the series, which premiered on December 2nd, has already received reviews on the specialized site Rotten Tomatoes. With an 87% approval rating from critics and a 93% rating from the audience (after its first episode), it can be considered on track to be a success.
This is what some of the main critics say about the series: "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew hits the nail on the head with the use of familiar elements. It borrows elements from 80s children's classics to create a children's adventure with a strong pirate component. The audience will perceive a familiar atmosphere reminiscent of Spielberg and Zemeckis," reviewed Julian Roman, from Movie Web.
"Big Gold Belt wrote, 'It offers a fresh and exciting adventure in a galaxy far, far away, combining the classic charm of Star Wars with the undeniable spirit of The Goonies: an exciting mix of camaraderie, curiosity, and coming-of-age storytelling.'"
On the other hand, Ed Power from The Telegraph said: “Disney has made such a mess with Star Wars that it will take more than a cute children’s show to get it back on track. But Skeleton Crew succeeds on its own terms as a wild parody of Spielbergian style.”
