According to reports from New Idea magazine, Nicole is still quite distressed after her mother passed away last September, and because of this, she is now seeking the opportunity to reconnect with Isabella and Connor, who are currently 31 and 29 years old respectively. "The loss of her mother has made Nicole not want to waste any more time. Janelle was hurt that she and her husband Antony were estranged from (Isabella and Connor)," a source told the publication.
“They were her first two grandchildren and they were very close in their day. It was a deep sorrow not being able to see them in person before she passed away,” said the informant, who also pointed out that the actress's regret was “fueling her need for a proper reconciliation.”
This news also comes after Connor Cruise himself surprised his followers through a post on his Instagram profile, where he revealed how he spent his Thanksgiving weekend in Florida. Despite often keeping a low profile and staying away from social media, in this photo he showed how he enjoys his time away from the spotlight.
Tom and Nicole adopted Isabella in 1992 after the actress underwent several unsuccessful fertility treatments, and Connor joined the family three years later. In 2018, the Big Little Lies actress shared how she handles the distant relationship she has with her children: “I have to protect those relationships. I know I would give up my life for my children because it’s my purpose. They are adults. They are capable of making their own decisions. They have chosen to be Scientologists and, as a mother, my job is to love them,” she said in an interview with Who Australia. “I am an example of that tolerance and that is what I believe in. So that is our job as parents, to always offer unconditional love,” she added.
