Von Miller was arrested last year
Last November, Miller was accused of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend at their home on the outskirts of Dallas during the Bills' bye week. He turned himself in to the police after being charged with third-degree assault of a pregnant woman, a crime that could result in a sentence of between two and 10 years in prison, as well as a $10,000 fine.
The woman and Miller have been in a relationship for seven years and have two children together. No charges were filed and in July Miller considered the case closed, according to information from his lawyers.
"My life is all about football, my kids, and being the best teammate and player I can be," he said at that moment. "I'm happy to be here with the Buffalo Bills. I'm glad to be here right now, living my life and doing the things we normally do."
In his first comments after his arrest in December, Miller questioned the accusations, which he considered false "and out of proportion." He acknowledged that something happened between him and his girlfriend, but he assured that it did not escalate to what was said he had done.
According to the police affidavit regarding the alleged assault on November 29th, Miller placed his hands on his partner's neck twice, pulled her hair, and threw her onto the sofa. The woman received treatment for minor injuries, including a bruise on her neck, the police officers wrote.
The Bills filled Miller’s spot by signing defensive tackle Zion Logue from the Atlanta practice squad.
