Kate was diagnosed with cancer after an abdominal surgery in January of this year. After strong rumors about her condition, and even about her alleged death, the Princess of Wales addressed the public on March 22, announcing that she had cancer, and that's why she hadn't been seen, as she had to undergo a preventive chemotherapy treatment and all the care required for this type of condition. However, she did not specify what type of cancer she was diagnosed with.

After the announcement of the illness, she has made two official public appearances: the first was on June 15 at the Trooping the Colour military ceremony and the second on July 14 at the Wimbledon men's final. On June 14th, the princess released a statement in which she expressed: "I have been surprised by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the past two months. I am progressing well, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days... On those bad days, you feel weak, tired, and have to listen to your body by resting.
