Christmas of 2023 was the last time Kate Middleton was seen at a public ceremony of the British Royal Family. Then in January came the mysterious operation, the long weeks of silence, the controversy over a doctored photo, the rumors, and finally the statement in March where she announced that she was undergoing treatment for an unspecified type of cancer.

The six months of absence ended this Saturday, June 15th, on the occasion of the king’s birthday celebration (it is ceremonial, as Charles III was born on November 14, 1948) and the Trooping the Colour military ceremony.

Princess Kate Middleton left the Mall and headed to Trafalgar Square in a carriage with her children. As they passed through the streets of London, she smiled and waved, receiving the affection of the people who crowded the sides of the roads to see her. They then arrived at Buckingham Palace, where the entire royal family greeted the attendees from the balcony.

One of the most fun moments of the day was when on the balcony, 6-year-old Louis of Wales, the youngest son of the Princess of Wales, made Kate smile as he danced to the rhythm of the royal guard. The fourth in line to the throne looked dapper in a formal navy blazer and light blue tie, and was scolded by his 9-year-old sister Charlotte of Wales.
Louis was also seen trying to open one of the windows of Buckingham Palace, and some images show him with his mother, who was laughing out loud.
Throughout the ceremonial day, the princess was very attentive to her children. She styled her daughter Charlotte's hair before they left in the carriage.
Mediatically, it had been reported that the princess had her schedule canceled for the entire 2024, but this new appearance shows that her health is very good, despite the fact that she herself acknowledged in a statement this Friday that “my treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. I also know that I am still not out of danger.”
